Sustainability governance and partnerships
How we lead our sustainability work
Alligo’s Board of Directors holds ultimate responsibility for the company’s sustainability work and its impact on the economy, environment, and society. The Board approves the Group’s policies, including the Code of Conduct. The Audit Committee reviews the sustainability reporting and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Group Management is responsible for strategies, targets, and follow-up, supported by the Head of Sustainability. Day-to-day operations are led by the Sustainability and Quality department. Sustainability targets are monitored and reported to Group Management on a quarterly basis.
HR is responsible for workplace health and safety, gender equality, and sick leave. Finance oversees governance, reporting, anti-corruption, and regulatory frameworks such as the EU taxonomy. Property and Security manage energy use and environmental aspects related to facilities, vehicles, and travel. Product and Purchasing lead supplier governance, while the sales organisations in each country are responsible for customer satisfaction.
Partnerships and Certifications
Alligo is a participant in the UN Global Compact, an initiative that encourages companies to take responsibility for ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
We are also a member of Amfori BSCI, a European business-driven initiative promoting social responsibility and sustainable working conditions in global supply chains. Members collaborate through aligned requirements and joint efforts to drive improvements. Suppliers commit to a shared Code of Conduct, with follow-up conducted by independent third-party auditors.
Alligo is also part of networks such as TEKO, Normpack, and Kemikaliegruppen to stay informed and contribute to future chemical regulations. We set strict requirements for chemical content and update our chemical restrictions twice a year, based on legislation, customer demands, and input from the Kemikaliegruppen.
Alligo’s integrated operations (Alligo AB, Swedol AB, Tools A/S, and Tools OY) are certified according to the standards for quality (ISO 9001) and environment (ISO 14001). The majority of the operations are also certified according to the standard for occupational health and safety (ISO 45001). Many of our non-integrated companies have their own environmental and quality certifications.
Alligo’s own garments are certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, meaning they meet strict chemical requirements and are tested to be free from substances that may be harmful to health. Garments and protective equipment also meet all applicable legal requirements and relevant certifications. Additionally, some products are environmentally labelled.
