Responsible supplier relationships

Alligo’s responsibility for people, society, and the environment extends beyond its own operations. The production of own brands largely takes place at suppliers in Asia, where human rights and labour rights are material matters.

A value chain built on trust

At Alligo, we build long-term partnerships with suppliers of both own and external brands. We work with partners who share our values and comply with national legislation, international conventions, and our Supplier Code of Conduct.

Alligo focuses on improving conditions for workers in the value chain by setting requirements for suppliers and following up on their performance.We work systematically in accordance with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the requirements of the Norwegian Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven).

Supplier Code Code of Conduct – Our framework for responsible collaboration

Our Supplier Code sets clear expectations in areas such as human rights, working conditions, health and safety, fire protection, environmental responsibility, and anti-corruption. It aligns with the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct and includes requirements for remediation in case of violations. All suppliers in our standard assortment complete self-assessments, and factories producing our brands are audited by independent third-party inspectors.

Risk-based approach

Alligo follows the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and applies a structured Sustainability Due Diligence (SDD) process. This includes risk analyses, self-assessments, factory visits, third-party audit and corrective actions. Risk assessments are based on international indices related to working conditions, environmental impact, and corruption.

Dialogue and presence

Our assortment managers maintain ongoing dialogue with suppliers and regularly visit production sites. In Asia, we collaborate with agents as needed to ensure local knowledge.Our sustainability and quality department have specialist expertise in human rights and working conditions, and we stay up to date through memberships in the UN Global Compact and amfori.

Compliance and follow-Up

Suppliers are expected to have their own whistleblowing channels and are granted access to Alligo’s whistleblower function. All reported violations are handled in accordance with our policy, and whistleblowers are protected from reprisals. In case of deviations from third-party audits, action plans are implemented and in serious cases, partnerships may be terminated.

Supplier geography 

Raw material extraction and manufacturing of products sold by Alligo take place in complex global supply chains, with suppliers mainly located in the Nordic region, Europe and Asia. As Alligo has no own production facilities, manufacturing is carried out by external suppliers.

Third-party audits within the supply chain

In 2025, 56 (51) third-party audits were conducted at own-brand suppliers in China, Bangladesh, Laos, Vietnam and Pakistan through amfori BSCI. The audits were based on Alligo’s Supplier Code.

The most common non-conformities concerned excessive working hours, shortcomings in grievance mechanisms, chemicals handling, employee awareness of rights and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

No zero-tolerance findings, such as child labour or forced labour, were detected.
