Strengthening the leaders of tomorrow

October 12, 2026

Building strong leaders is a strategic priority for Alligo and supports our ambition to be an unbeatable employer. Based on our values of commitment, collaboration and competence, a joint Nordic leadership programme was launched in 2025 to strengthen our culture, develop our people and drive the business forward. The first leaders have now completed the program, with participants showing strong development.

Engaging leadership

The programme runs for approximately six months and combines different modules with personality assessments, workshops and practical assignments. Its purpose is to create the conditions for leadership that engages and develops both people and the business, based on Alligo’s values. Weronica Borgeström Prytz, HR Business Partner for Nordic Functions, explains:

– We want to give our managers the opportunity to develop together across functions, gain new perspectives and, at the same time, practise the tools and processes they are expected to use in their daily work.

The rationale behind the initiative is straightforward. Every employee contributes to helping the company achieve its goals, and high engagement leads to stronger business performance, higher customer satisfaction and lower employee turnover. Leadership is a key driver of engagement. That is why Alligo invests in developing leaders who can create clarity, inclusion and motivation in everyday work.

The programme is also designed to strengthen a shared leadership culture across Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Developing skills and networks

The programme aims to build a clear understanding of what it means to be a leader at Alligo and the expectations that come with the role. Participants gain insights into their strengths and development areas while learning tools and processes that support employee engagement.

Unni Stene, HR Manager Norway, describes the programme:

– We want participants to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and develop their leadership based on their strengths. One of the most appreciated elements is the interactive exercises, which are directly connected to everyday situation.

For many managers, the programme has also provided a new perspective on leadership. Alexander Lønberg, Sales Manager, Oslo, Tools Norway, describes what the programme has meant to him

– Contributing to an environment where employees feel seen, secure and have room to grow is one of the most rewarding insights I gained through the programme. It brings additional energy and pride to my leadership role.

Emelie Norling Hård, Store Manager at Swedol in Stenungsund.

The training has also given new perspectives to Emelie Norling Hård, Store Manager at Swedol in Stenungsund:

– What I appreciated most was the openness within the group. Everyone was willing to share their experiences and challenges. I realised that even leaders I look up to face difficulties in their daily work. It gave me an important insight that leadership is something you continuously need to practise.

The exchange of experiences between participants from different parts of the business is a recurring theme in evaluations. Many describe not only gaining new perspectives, but also practical tools and ideas they can apply immediately in their daily work.

Promoting gender equality and talent development

The leadership programme is a key part of Alligo’s efforts to develop the next generation of leaders. It creates structured opportunities for employees with potential to grow, while also broadening the leadership pipeline across the organisation.

Weronica Borgeström Prytz also sees a clear link between leadership development and Alligo’s sustainability targets related to equality:

– By offering structured leadership development, we create opportunities for more women to take the step into leadership positions.

For many participants, the programme has not only been about developing their own leadership, but also about enabling others to succeed.

Christina Inderdal, Sales Manager for the Oslofjord region at Tools Norway.

Christina Inderdal, Sales Manager for the Oslofjord region, Tools Norway, describes how the programme has influenced her leadership:

– I have had the opportunity to build a team that supports one another, strengthens each other’s performance and stands united when it matters most. It is rewarding to see how we grow, deliver results together and lift each other up through both successes and challenges.
