Alligo launches fit testing service for respiratory protection devices
From 1 January 2025, employers in Sweden will have to ensure that employees who need respiratory protection have them individually tested through a so-called fit test. The Swedish Work Environment Authority estimates that there are 400,000 employees in Sweden affected by the new law. Since the year end, Alligo’s concept brand Swedol has been offering a nationwide service where the fitting tests can be performed in store or on site at the customer.
– The new regulations are good because they focus on employee safety and strengthen the protection of everyone who works in environments where respiratory protection is required, says Torleif Cumléus, Category Manager for services at Alligo.

– Testing existing protection is important, but it is even more important to choose protection that is adapted to the type of work and that suits the individual. The most effective protection is the protection that is used, so of course it is important that the protection is comfortable, so that wearing it becomes natural, Torleif continues.
Swedol offers nationwide tests
In Sweden, Swedol offers a nationwide service where all customers can get a professional assessment of their choice of protection and an individual test of tight-fitting protection. The tests can be carried out at the customer’s premises or at one of Swedol’s stores.
Swedol currently has more than 30 trained experts in respiratory protection. They can advise the customer on which respiratory protection to choose for different types of work and then carry out tests on the protection the company already has or that they buy. For us, it is extremely important that our customers are safe at work, says Torleif Cumléus.
